Summer Visit

"Summer Visit" painting by Alton R. Lowe

Hope Town was founded in 1785 by Wyannie Malone and her four children from Charleston, South Carolina. The town has slowly grown over the years and today is a popular tourist destination. Boaters make it a point to visit during the summer and the harbour is filled with boats of all kinds. In my painting, you can see a porpoise making his summer visit as well. Today the island is home to some of the best restaurants in The Bahamas. Its cultural life is vibrant and adds to the charms of a summer visit. - Alton
